Never forget calcium:

Calcium is a key ingredient for building strong long-lasting teeth and overal oral health. Dairies are great sources calcium with choices such as yogurt, cheese, and milk. If you have digestion problems with dairies or if you are vegan, makes sure to have a good portion of leafy greens such as broccoli, almonds, and dried beans in your diet.

Eat plenty of fruit & veggies: you need fiber

High-fiber fruits and vegetables keep saliva flowing, which is an essential factor in creating mineral defenses against tooth decay. Dried fruits such as dates, figs, and raisins are a great source of fiber. My other suggestions are high-fiber fruits such as bananas, apples and oranges, veggies such as baked beans, Brussels sprouts and peas, and nuts such as peanuts, almonds and bran. The more you replace suger with fruit, the less dental office visit you need!

Those delicious chocolate cookies, oily potato chips and cheetos seem so easy and tempting to consume as daily snacks, but they can cost you a lot of time and money on medical/dental bills later on in your life. Spend the time to prepare a healthy snack diet for your everyday work and school. More important, create the habit of staying away from bad snacks. Your body is worth healthy food, and healthy can be delicious too! Here are my suggestions for a delicious & healthy snack:

* Fresh fruit
* Easy-to-carry veggies such as carrot, celery, and soy bean
* Natural yogurt with fresh fruit
* Smoothies made with milk, yogurt and fruits
* Whole wheat breakfast biscuits with milk
* Cheese or cheese sticks
